New Jersey laws governing tax appeals include N.J.S.A. 54:3 et seq., 54:4 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 18:12A et seq. Property taxes cannot be appealed, but the property's assessment can. Therefore, New Jersey tax payers have a right to file a property tax appeal on the assessment of their residential or commercial real estate.
